Yep, I'm over the weight. For some reason, and despite my dreams, it is still there when I wake up in each morning. So I guess that means I have work to do. This blog is the fruits (ha, ha) of my labor (pain).

    a family affair

So I mentioned I did the ATL half marathon on Thanksgiving, which sidebar - was a very well organized race but the course was so damn hilly!!! I digress.

What i didn’t mention is that i got the whole family to participate.  My bro ran his 1st half after watching me at my first two races and supporting me in the last two, i got him on board. He lives in DC so i gave him a schedule sent him to the running store to get all the right gear and i am SO PROUD that he did it!!! He finished in a great time for a first timer, he beat me! And as soon as i finished the race he looks at me and says “so you know that race your doing next weekend in DC (post on that coming later), you think i can still sign up?” I HAVE CONVERTED HIM INTO A RUNNER.

In addition to that my BF and parents did the 5K.  HOW CUTE IS THAT!!!! the BF hung with my rents and and crossed the finish line with my mom, he got her through it. My dad finished about 10 minutes ahead of them.  His mom came and cheered us all on at the finish line and I was so grateful the 6 of us could spend the day together I couldn’t think of a better way to spend the holiday. I am so proud of my family and was such an amazing experience one that we will be replicating at future holidays :)
