The body is really an amazing thing. You can train it to do certain things and if you treat it well, or poorly for that matter, it will respond. Nothing proves this more than the half I ran yesterday. It was my fourth one, the second this year…and the one I was the least “trained” for.
Endurance, effort and will got me through the first 10 miles. The last 3.1 I more than hit a wall, I hit the damn great wall. That proves to me that I still had it, I hadn’t completely fallen off the wagon. The last few months I have let the training and eating well become my 5th most important priority to work, family, traveling etc. But I realized there is no time like the present to get back on track…even during the holiday season ;)
